ALL COLORFUL… AND NOT AT ALL

I was born in Nagykanizsa in 1985. I finished primary school and high school there then I graduated from college in Szombathely as a literature and history teacher. I started to work as a teacher right after I got my degree and I’ve been teaching ever since.
I have never learnt how to paint and draw except for regular arts classes at high school. I’ve got help from my arts teacher colleague and my painter friends and I got encouragement and support from my wife. The creative work has played a central role in my life since my childhood but I’ve been drawing purposefully and in a planned manner for three years. Surrealism has always interested me as a major style. In the beginning I made crowded graphite pencil drawings, now my images feature fewer motives, while they’ve become more colorful. Nowadays I paint colorful oil paintings and black and white aquarelles. In picturing my world, I’m mostly intrigued by strong contrasts and light and shadow effects, and I use symbols to reflect on essential themes.
