“Together with barracks, factories and prisons, also schools will disappear. Each exemplary person becomes a teacher. Social production will become a teaching and nurturing place in every field. The contrast between mental and manual work, between agriculture and industry will vanish more and more. Self-education becomes the most important and stressful method, since the freedom and autonomy of the personality is its precondition and its goal at the same time.” (Otto Rühle)
Otto Rühle (1874-1943) is known only within a small circle as a militant and theoretician of the anti-Bolshevik communist movement. His pedagogical works – in which, the critique of bourgeois teaching and education, the school system etc. is connected with the tracing of an anti-authoritarian communist conception of education – have a significant place in his ouvre.

The goal of the lecture is to reveal the fundamental characteristics of Rühle’s theory of education, with the purpose of further thinking and practical application.

On the event, Gondolkodó Antikvárium distributes classist publications. Among others, the publications of The Free School of Robin Goodfellow, classist tales, critical studies about education and pedagogy, the publications of “De Fabula Narratur” anarchist-communist publisher etc.
