JazzaJ presents:
“Šopron Shuffle – trans european music meetings“ is a new concert series, a concert platform for musicians working with improvised music as a global language within local contexts. It is a meeting point, an arena of cultural exchange for the improvised music scenes of Hungary and Austria.
The idea for this series was born out of a growing collaboration between the young generation of musicians from both scenes substantially differing music cultures, and the desire of establishing a transformal but stable frame for the presentation of their work.
For each evening one musician decides on the constellation of musical partners and the form of the evening. The format also opens up for international guests from time to time. In the years 2015 and 2016 every two month there will be an event alternating beetween Vienna and Budapest.
The first edition of the Festival will be curated by Sylvia Bruckner, Pianist from Austria. Miklos Szilvester from Budapest and Markus Krispel from Vienna will join her on drums and saxophones.
