TRIP-POP, DON’T STOP!
Exhibition of Gergely GYURICZA

Facebook event

Opening: 2015. June 2. (Tuesday) 8.00 p.m.

“Müvelődési Szint (short: MÜSZI) is a cohort of Budapest’s cultural life. This place is not only a location for a beer with mates but it is so much more. A self-funding Event location, theater, Cinema Club, Office, Civil space and workshop. It is literary, in the heart of Budapest. Aligned with its vision, MÜSZI has always endorsed young, creative individuals who take pride in their chosen profession, to give an opportunity for future growth. In this mind-set MÜSZI is proud to present, a sadly, endangered species from the Hungarian art-scape: PopArt.

Pop art is an art movement which emerged in the mid-1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop art presented a challenge to traditions of fine art by employing aspects of mass culture, such as advertising, comic books and mundane cultural objects as well as and celebrity stories. Rooting in this concept, artist Gyuricza is inviting you to a complex cinematic experience, with popcorn, a coke and an unhealthy load of cinematic works of art.

Kicking of the event with an opening, guided tour, and closing it with a birthday celebration of the Artist turning 27. Congratulate him on this at MÜSZI on June 30!

Lot of people think Art is Dead, in a meaning of limited impact of current generations. Pop Art, by default is a hard-edged composition and representational art as a response by artists using impersonal, mundane reality, irony and parody.
Some people think culture is dead. The truth is, just like there has been a major shift in the way which we organise our personal life (doodle) form connections (facebook) share our opinion (twitter) memories (Instagram) look for love and passion (tinder) there was also a significant shift in the model of the way which we distribute cultural commodities.
Lot of people think art is dead. For those I recommend this exhibition with the motto: fck off!”
