Nyitott workshop Budapest lakói számára a Pneuma Szöv. és a Mobile Albania Vándorló utcaegyeteme keretében.
Salam Yousry egyiptomi rendező Kórusprojektje az Arab Tavasz körüli felfokozott társadalmi hangulatban panaszkórusként indult. Azóta több helyen valósult meg Egyiptomban és más helyszíneken azzal a céllal, hogy a társadalom legkülönbözőbb rétegeihez tartozó embereket hozza össze. Az együttlétek célja a közösségi tapasztalat és az egyenrangú részvétel. A résztvevők közösen öntik dalba vágyaikat, gondjaikat, érzéseiket és gondolataikat, jó- és rosszkedvüket. A közös improvizációkból, versírásból és zeneszerzésből álló egyhetes workshop eredményeit rövid performansz foglalja össze és mutatja be – olykor meglepő eredményekkel.

A Kórusprojekt a közösség számára fontos különféle témákat kutatja. Az eredmény mindig más, mindig megjósolhatatlan, függ a témától, résztvevőktől és az adott pillanat történéseitől – egyedi élmény, mely a próbateremben bontakozik ki. A műhelymunkákban csupán az önkifejezésre való törekvés, a közösségi együttműködés és az egyenrangú, aktív részvétel szellemisége marad állandó. A Kórusprojekt mindenki számára nyitott. Kairóból indult, majd workshopok formájában megjárta Alexandriát, Ammant, Beirutot, Londont, Münchent, Berlint, Párizst, Isztanbult, Grazot, és most Budapestre látogat.

Salam Yousry (ET)
Salam Yousry színházi rendező, író és illusztrátor. 2004-ben végzett a kairói Helwan Egyetem Képzőművészeti Karán, azóta a kulturális szektor számos területén tevékenykedik. 2002-ben alapította színtársulatát, az Al-Tamye Theatre Company-t, emellett illusztrátorként és különböző művészeti projektek kurátoraként dolgozik, valamint tanársegéd a Helwan Egyetem Képzőművészeti Karának festő szakán. 2010-ben indította el a Kórusprojektet Kairóban.
Vándorló Utcaegyetem
A Vándorló Utcaegyetem a Pneuma Szöv. nyitott budapesti hálózat és a Mobile Albania német performanszcsoport közös projektje, a 20 forintos operett című folytatásos utcafantázia második állomása. A 20 forintos operett 2012 nyara óta kutatja a közös terek lehetőségeit az utcán és a városi foghíjakon. Az utcafantázia első képe Mókus Maxi a multifunkcionális óriásmókus története volt, melyet magyar és külföldi művészek, hajléktalan alkotók, szomszédok és arrajárók alkottak meg egy józsefvárosi elhagyott óvodakertben. A mobil mókusszobor 10 hét alatt épült fel különféle művészeti és közösségi események során, melyek a használaton kívüli telket a közös alkotás, tudásmegosztás és a kölcsönös bizalom helyévé alakították. A projektet egy utcai felvonulás zárta a VIII. kerületen át.
A Vándorló utcaegyetem 2013 májusától június végéig zajlik Budapesten, majd szeptemberben Lipcsébe utazik. A project során Budapest VIII. kerületét térképezzük fel és alakítjuk Nyolcadik Tengerré. Az aktuális szocio-politikai környezetre reagálva hozunk éltre közös tudást performatív köztéri akciók során. Az új csatlakozókat örömmel fogadjuk! „Mert a tenger új hazát rejt, jer’ hajónkra, nem selejt!”

With Salam Yousry (Egypt) for the citizens of Budapest in the frame of the Wandering Street-University, a project by Pneuma Szöv. and Mobile Albania.
The Choir Project by Egyptian director Salam Yousry started as a Complaints Choir in the heated social times around the Arab Spring. The Choir Project invites people from all walks of life to put their hopes and concerns, their feelings and thoughts, their jokes and woes into song. A week-long workshop of communal improvisation, lyric-writing, and composition culminates in a short performance.
The 6 day workshop takes place between July 3d and 10th 2013 in evening hours. The workshop results will be presented on 10th of July with a march through the 8th district.

The Choir Project explores different themes of relevance to the community. The results can never be the same; they will always be new and unpredictable, depending on the theme, the people involved and what happens in the moment – the unique experience unfolding in the rehearsal room. The only constant is the drive towards self-expression and community collaboration and the spirit of equal and active participation. The Choir Project is open to everyone. It started in Cairo, then offered workshops in Alexandria, Amman, Beirut, London, Munich, Berlin, Paris, Istanbul, Graz and now in Budapest.

Salam Yousry (ET)
Salam Yousry is a theatre director, writer and an illustrator. Since his graduation from the School of Fine Arts, Helwan University in Kairo in 2004, he has worked in several areas in the arts and culture sector. In 2002 he founded the Al-Tamye Theatre Company, besides this he is a freelance illustrator, curator of different art projects as well as teaching assistant in the Painting Department in The Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. He founded “The Choir Project” in 2010 in Cairo.
Wandering Street-University, Pneuma Szöv., Mobile Albania
The Wandering Street-University is the second part of the street phantasy 20 Forint Operetta, a project initiated by the open Budapest network Pneuma Szöv. and the German performance collective Mobile Albania. Since 2012, the 20 Forint Operetta researches and creates common space on the streets and in urban non-spaces. Mókus Maxi (Macky Squirrel) was the first image of this street phantasy: the story of a huge, multifunctional squirrel, created on a former playground in the 8th district by Hungarian and foreign artists, homeless writers, neighbours and passers-by. Over 10 weeks the mobile sculpture of the squirrel developed in a series of diverse artistic and social practices and transformed the empty lot into a place of common creation, knowledge exchange and mutual trust. The final result was a theatrical procession through the 8th district.
The Wandering Street-University is taking place in Budapest from May 2013 until the end of July and will travel to Leipzig in September. Common street knowledge is formed by a series of performative actions in public space that relate to the socio-political context. The exploration of the 8th district will map the “8th sea” of Budapest. We will welcome all new participants:
