Julian Sands is an English actor known for his roles in such films as The Killing Fields (a Best Picture nominee), A Room with a View, Warlock (a cult film), Arachnophobia, and Vatel — and for his roles in television series, such as Vladimir Bierko in 24 and Jor-El in Smallville. In August 2011, he appeared on stage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in A Celebration of Harold Pinter, directed by John Malkovich at the Pleasance Courtyard. That year he also appeared in the mystery thriller film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
