BEZÁR A MÜSZI, de nem akar megszűnni!

BEZÁR A MÜSZI, legalábbis jelenlegi helyszínén, a Corvin Áruház 3. emeletén. Váratlanul ért minket a hír: a ház tulajdonosa szeptember végével felmondja határozatlan idejű bérleti viszonyunkat egy új, jobban fizető jelentkező javára.
a MÜSZI dolgozói közössége

MÜSZI IS TO BE CLOSED DOWN, but we do not want it to vanish!
MÜSZI IS CLOSING DOWN, at least in its present location on the 3rd floor of the Corvin Áruház. The news reached us unexpectedly: the owner of the building will terminate our indefinite rental contract as of the end of September in favor of a new, better-paying applicant. It is our understanding that the space will be used as a more commercial, business office in the future.
Blaha Lujza Square will lose an important independent cultural space with MÜSZI’s departure, which has worked there since 2012, providing space to around 150 permanent renters at any one time (including artists, designers, and civil society organizations) and over 100 programs each month.
We will endeavor with all of our strength to ensure that MÜSZI will not cease to be on account of this closure, but instead will relocate, transform, and begin a new period.
We would like to thank all of you for your attendance, collective building, and support. Furthermore we would like to ask those of you who can to help us find a similarly equipped location where we can continue to operate our open-minded cultural space, and where we can preserve those values that MÜSZI has been and will continue fostering.
You can also help in this way: we will sell off MÜSZI’s furnishings, indoor-plant garden (green plant walls, houseplants) and other possessions throughout September during a four-week garage sale, turning these resources as well toward covering the expenses involved in MÜSZI’s relocation and the modeling of the new space.
We gladly await all supportive ideas and recommendations,
The MÜSZI workers’ community
