Hogyan lesz a testből szobor?
A The Unknown Collective előadásai nem tekinthetőek végleges kijelentéseknek, inkább egy végtelen kutatófolyamat állomásainak foghatjuk fel őket. Improvizáción keresztül, a közönség részvételére alapozva a mozgás, a test és a szobrászat kapcsolatait és határvonalait kutatják. A kollektíva megalapítói 2012 őszén közös munkájuk során arra a kérdésre keresték a választ, melyek a szobrászat performatív elemei és ezzel párhuzamosan a performatív művészeti ágakban milyen szobrászati összefüggések fedezhetőek fel?
A kollektívát Nicole Cataldo-Davies alapította az Ismeretlen kutatása projekt keretén belül végzett munka során. Támogatók: Műhely Alapítvány, Trafó Kortárs Művészetek Háza, MÜSZI, az EU Kulturális Programja, NKA és az Emberi Erőforrások Minisztériuma, a Mú Színház és a DÉPARTS Budapesten, 2012 őszén.

Are you interested in how the body becomes a sculpture?
The Unknown Collective’s performances are never conclusive, they are like stepping stones in an ongoing journey of discovery.
Playing with improvisation and audience participation, their process explores the boundaries and relationships between the body, movement and sculpture. The main theme for the research they did in autumn was searching the performative aspects of sculpture and the sculptural aspects of performance. By presenting the process of their work they lead the audience into a world of contemporary art and finally they let the audience being involved with the materials they used.
The Unknown Collective was founded by Nicole Cataldo-Davies during research at Trafó Contemporary Art House. Backed by Workshop Foundation and MÜSZI Incubator Art House with support from the Culture Program of the European Union, Natural Cultural Fund, Ministry of National Resources, MÚ Theatre and DÉPARTS over in Budapest in autumn 2012.
